Dirk van Dalen
Founder
Dirk van Dalen served as a respected Branch Manager and Financial Advisor at Sanlam from 1987 until his retirement in 1999. In 1999, he founded DVD Brokers, building a trusted name in the financial services industry through integrity, dedication, and client-focused service. Though Dirk passed away in December 2024, the legacy he built lives on through the continued values and vision of DVD Brokers.
Alwyn Kruger
Broker
Alwyn Kruger built a strong foundation in finance as a Credit Manager at Bankfin, where he served from 1989 to 2001. He then joined Dirk van Dalen as a Short-Term Insurance Broker, bringing his financial insight and client-oriented mindset to the growing firm. Alwyn remains a key figure in maintaining the trusted relationships and service excellence that define DVD Brokers.
Dalené Kruger

Dalené Kruger began her career as a Financial Advisor at Sanlam, where she served from 1990 until 2001. She then joined Dirk van Dalen as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), bringing her expertise and commitment to excellence to the foundation of DVD Brokers. Dalené’s professionalism and client-first approach continue to uphold the standards on which the firm was built.
Renier Barkhuizen

Renier Barkhuizen began his career in the healthcare sector as a Medical Sales Representative from 2019 to 2024, where he developed strong client service and communication skills. In January 2025, he transitioned into the financial services industry, joining Alwyn and Dalené at DVD Brokers as a Short-Term Insurance Broker. Renier brings a fresh perspective, dedication, and a client-focused approach to the firm’s continued growth.
